By accessing or using our website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use the website.

 

1. About Students for Illinois

 

Students for Illinois (“Students for Illinois,” “SFI,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is an Illinois political action committee.

 

Our website provides information about Students for Illinois, our activities and initiatives, political and civic engagement opportunities, events, educational programming, volunteer opportunities, contributions, sponsorship opportunities, and other organizational activities.

 

These Terms apply to your use of the website and related online services.

 

2. Eligibility

 

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Students for Illinois website.

 

Individuals between the ages of 13 and 17 may use the website with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian where required.

 

Certain activities have additional age requirements:

Contributions are not charitable donations unless otherwise expressly stated. Political contributions to Illinois political committees are generally not tax deductible as charitable contributions.

Students for Illinois reserves the right to reject, return, or otherwise handle a contribution as required by applicable law.

5. Event Tickets

 

Students for Illinois may offer tickets or registrations for events through the website or through third-party event services.

 

Unless a specific event's terms expressly state otherwise, all ticket purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

A ticket may not be resold, assigned, transferred, or otherwise provided to another individual without the express written permission of Students for Illinois.

 

Students for Illinois reserves the right to change event details, including event times, locations, speakers, programming, or other elements, when reasonably necessary.

 

If Students for Illinois cancels or postpones an event, we may, at our discretion:

 

1. Honor previously purchased tickets for the rescheduled event; and/or

2. Offer refunds, credits, or another appropriate remedy.

 

If an event is rescheduled, previously purchased tickets will generally remain valid for the rescheduled event unless otherwise communicated by Students for Illinois.

 

Students for Illinois does not guarantee the appearance of any particular speaker, guest, performer, or other participant.

 

6. Sponsorship Portal and Submitted Materials

 

Students for Illinois may provide online forms or portals through which event sponsors may submit information and promotional materials.

 

The sponsorship portal is intended for legitimate sponsors and authorized representatives of sponsors.

 

By submitting any material through the sponsorship portal, including logos, photographs, advertisements, graphics, text, trademarks, videos, or other content, you represent and warrant that:

 

  • You own the material or have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to submit and use it;

  • Your submission does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other legal rights of another person or organization;

  • You have authority to submit the material on behalf of the sponsoring organization, where applicable; and

  • The material complies with applicable law.

 

By submitting material, you grant Students for Illinois permission to use, reproduce, display, publish, distribute, modify as reasonably necessary for formatting, and otherwise use the material for purposes related to the applicable sponsorship, event, website, promotional materials, and Students for Illinois activities.

 

Students for Illinois may reject, remove, modify, or decline to publish any submitted material that we believe is inappropriate, unlawful, inaccurate, technically unsuitable, or inconsistent with the applicable sponsorship agreement or event.

 

You remain responsible for the content you submit.

 

7. Intellectual Property

 

Unless otherwise stated, the website and its contents are owned by or licensed to Students for Illinois.

 

This includes, without limitation:

 

  • Students for Illinois names and branding;

  • Logos and marks;

  • Written content;

  • Photographs;

  • Graphics;

  • Videos;

  • Audio;

  • Illustrations;

  • Website designs;

  • Event materials;

  • Original publications;

  • Downloadable materials; and

  • Other original materials made available through the website.

 

All such materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

 

You may view and access website materials for your personal, non-commercial use and for legitimate purposes related to Students for Illinois activities.

17. Indemnification

 

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Students for Illinois and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, agents, representatives, and affiliates from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to:

 

  • Your violation of these Terms;

  • Your unlawful or unauthorized use of the website;

  • Material you submit through the website;

  • Your violation of another person's rights; or

  • Your violation of applicable law or regulation.

 

18. Suspension or Termination

 

Students for Illinois may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the website or particular services if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, applicable law, or the intended use of a particular service.

Nothing in this section prevents Students for Illinois from seeking emergency or equitable relief in any court with appropriate jurisdiction when necessary to protect its rights or property.

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

 

22. No Waiver

 

A failure by Students for Illinois to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce that provision or any other provision in the future.

 

23. Entire Agreement

 

These Terms, together with the Students for Illinois Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly applicable to a particular service, event, contribution, sponsorship, or other activity, constitute the agreement governing your use of the website with respect to those matters.

 

If a separate written agreement applies to a particular event, sponsorship, service, or transaction, the terms of that agreement may control to the extent of any conflict.
